Cindy Jian is an artist and designer who enjoys creating at the intersection of product, art, and event. Everything she creates comes from studying people and how to incorporate more delight into their everyday interactions. She seeks to create design-art objects, which are often a catalyst for conversation. Her projects, such as Swinger’s Party and Pallet Playground, were designed for a specific outdoor place that was lacking in interaction. Through the structures, the sites were activated, and people are reminded of a childlike wonder through play.
Cindy is a graduate from the Maryland Institute College of Art, where she studied Environmental Design (BFA) and Social Design (MA). Prior to studying design in college, she spent many afternoons oil painting at Art Academia, and a semester printmaking at the Oxbow School.
